Dear donors, supporters and friends,
Welcome to your newsletter for the fall season. We’re happy to report that we have had our best
quarter ever with successes on many fronts.
First and foremost, after years of mulling over how to provide some relief to people living
virtually without electricity, we introduced a solar power project that has truly been revolutionary.
Farmers, labourers, seniors, women, children and the disabled have been living in an area where
summer temperatures top 50 degrees Celsius (122 degrees Fahrenheit) and electricity from the grid is
available for just three hours out of 24; outages go on for several days at a time. We were noticing that
our Community Clinic was increasingly inundated with children covered in heat rashes, senior citizens
falling faint from the high temperatures and farmers reporting extreme exhaustion and dehydration.
